TrueCut System - Part 2 - Blade Sharpening Systems

Posted by Betsy on

If you do a lot of crafting, chances are good you have a rotary cutter. They are great for quilters who have to make the same cut again and again with great precision. The big cost with a good rotary cutter is the cost of replacing the blades. TrueCut came up with 2 blade sharpening systems so you can reuse the same blade over and over. The first system is the TrueCut Rotary Blade Sharpener manual sharpener.

Manual rotary blade sharpener

The best part about this system is that you don't even have to take the blade out of your cutter to sharpen it. Just use the same motion for cutting fabric in the sharpener and voila! Good as new blade. The other sharpener is the TrueSharp Electric Blade Sharpener. [caption id="attachment_40" align="alignnone" width="300"]

It is also just easier on the wrist. Just pop in any blade from any rotary cutter on the market and the machine does all the work. Even though it is more expensive than the manual sharpener, you will save the cost of this machine fairly quickly by not needing to buy new blades all the time. A sharp and ergonomic cutter makes cutting fabric so much easier, but the new TrueCut rulers make the job even easier. Check it out on the next installment, TrueCut Rulers.
