Check Mates is my newest exploration in the wovens category, and they are so very lovely and useful across every project I can think of. More interesting than a solid and just as useful as a blender, these pieces bring color, warmth, and texture to clothing, accessories, and patchwork. The two different scales and structures of checkerboard designs are very compatible in weight to quilting cotton while having more drape and softness. So, whether you combine them as a mixed element alongside printed goods, or let them stand on their own, they contribute something very special to your sewing.
