Diana Li Fitzgerald, owner and creator of Banjoflannel, began sewing while in graduate school. Since then, she has spent her sewing life designing patterns and experimenting with different sewing techniques. Her former life in science provides a unique approach and perspective to her work. The same curiosity that fueled her former career also drives her desire to create. Sewing has been the perfect outlet for this desire. She enjoys the entire process of developing a new sewing pattern; from the initial idea sketch to detailed schematic drawings, and prototypes, and finally writing the pattern so that others can also bring her ideas to life. Her work experience has also lent itself to her love of teaching others through in-person and online classes. She is honored to be a repeat faculty member for Quiltcon by the Modern Quilt Guild and was also featured in “Meet the Makers” in the Fall 2022 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.
